What is the VA Disability Payment Scheduled for 2025?

You depend on your monthly VA disability benefits, so it’s important to know what to expect in 2025. Normally, VA disability benefits are paid on the first of the month following the benefit month. For example, benefits for February are typically paid out on March 1, and March benefits on April 1.

Occasionally, that schedule changes. That’s because the VA doesn’t make payments on Saturdays, Sundays, or federal holidays. Rather than making you wait until the next business day, you’ll receive those payments early. Usually, it’s just one day early, but depending on the circumstances, it may be two or even three days ahead of schedule.

Here’s what you can expect in the upcoming year.

December 2024 benefits were paid on December 31, 2024, rather than January 1 of the new year, because New Year’s Day is a federal holiday.
January 2025 benefits were paid on January 31, because February 1 was a Saturday.
February 2025 benefits will be paid on February 28, because March 1 is a Saturday.
March 2025 benefits will be paid on schedule on April 1.
April 2025 benefits will be paid on schedule on May 1.
May 2025 benefits will be paid on May 30, because June 1 is a Sunday.
June 2025 benefits will be paid on schedule on July 1.
July 2025 benefits will be paid on schedule on August 1.
August 2025 benefits will be paid on August 29, because September 1 is Labor Day.
September 2025 benefits will be paid on schedule on October 1.
October 2025 benefits will be paid on October 31, because November 1 is a Saturday
November 2025 benefits will be paid on schedule on December 1.
December 2025 benefits will be paid on December 31, because January 1 is New Years Day.
